Tony Shoemaker is a designer with three decades of experience in the product development field. He is originally from Lancaster, PA and grew up in and around the artist and craftsman community, due to influences from his family and friends. He grew up making things, and like many of his era was fascinated with science fiction and futurism. When he learned of Industrial Design through a magazine in his father’s office, he knew this was his calling.

Tony graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s famed School of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning, and has worked for a number of high profile design firms and corporations. His early career focused on consulting, then moved into corporate design in 2009. Throughout his career he has won a number of design awards, been granted numerous design patents, and received a number of utility patents as well. More impactfully, he has created a number of solutions that moved the needle in many different industries.

“Continuing to learn and grow is really the only way to operate as a successful designer.” Tony has added a number of learning certificates to his experience and continues to upskill to stay up to date with the latest practices.

He has presented at many design events, lectured at a number of schools, and has crafted a number of white papers on differing subjects. Currently his interest lies in helping design groups better organize themselves, and training individuals to help advance their careers.

Tony can currently be found in Milwaukee in a mid-century styled home, sketching, drawing, and planning away. He also maintains his 335xi BMW, and dreams of getting back to Road America race track again soon.
